CGV ARTHOUSE is the specialty division of CJ CGV. Founded in 2004 under the name "Indie Theaters" and later renamed 'Movie COLLAGE', it was initially a label given to three screens that would show only indie and arthouse films, in a major push by CGV to diversify its audience. After it was rebranded 'CGV ARTHOUSE' in 2014, the division started distributing independent Korean films and foreign art-house films under its own banner. Among its most notable releases are <Han Gong-ju> (2013), <A Girl at My Door> (2014), <Coin Locker Girl> (2014), and <Burning> (2018). CGV ARTHOUSE also provides distribution and screening opportunities within its theaters to the winners of its own awards handed out at the Busan International Film Festival and the Jeonju International Film Festival. Now operating 25 dedicated screens and 3 multiplex theaters entirely devoted to non-mainstream films, CGV ARTHOUSE regularly organizes film discussions and Q&A sessions with directors, actors and film critics, as well as masterclasses and special events.
