Bori Pictures is the film production company founded in 2009 by YIM Soon-rye, the director of critically-acclaimed music band drama <Waikiki Brothers> (2001) and sports drama hit <Forever the Moment> (2007). After it released in 2009 YIM’s ensemble drama film <Fly Penguin> (2008), co-produced with the National Human Rights Commission of Korea, Bori Pictures worked on two other projects from the director, <Rolling Home With a Bull> (2010) and the anthology film <Sorry and Thank You> (2011). The company then gave HONG Sangsoo’s apprentice LEE Kwang-guk the opportunity to make his directing debut with the arthouse drama <Romance Joe> (2011), which received much praise from the critics.
