The Mokpo National Road One Independent Film Festival (NR1IFF) is the only independent film festival in South Jeolla Province created in collaboration with Mokpo's filmmakers and local citizens.
Through discovering quality independent films and fostering the local film culture environment, the festival contributes to expanding the cultural diversity of Mokpo and promoting the development of the region's film culture.
Held annually between summer and autumn, the Mokpo National Road One Independent Film Festival offers audiences the romantic vistas of Mokpo and unforgettable memories.
The festival strives every day for it to connect people from Mokpo to Sinuiju, in North Korea, which was the original final destination of National Road 1 before the Korean Division.
