The Second Preservation Center will be 8,600㎡ and the total cost for its construction is set to be 33 billion won. A preservation room for storing film, videos, digital footage as well as sound materials as well as facilities for preserving and restoring will be at the center. There will also be a movie theater at the center for previews and screenings as well as facilities for local residents. Construction will begin next year and it’s to be completed in 2014. The Second Preservation Center will serve an important role in expanding the current inadequate storage system as well as providing the space to store copies of originals in case of natural disasters.
